Shadow Complex

Shadow Complex is a 2009 platform-adventure video game developed by Chair Entertainment in association with Epic Games (using its Unreal Engine 3) and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade. The game was released worldwide on August 19, 2009. The original script of Shadow Complex was written by comic book writer and Star Trek novelist Peter David.

The game follows Jason Flemming and his new girlfriend Claire, who opts to explore some caverns the two stumble across. When she does not respond to his calls, Jason follows her. He finds a massive underground complex with soldiers and high-end technology. Jason must rescue Claire and discover the plot behind the faction operating the complex.

Shadow Complex's reception has been very positive. It has received and been nominated for several Game of the Year and Editor's Choice Awards. Critics praised the gameplay, narrative and graphics, with several reviewers also stating that its 1200 Microsoft Points price was a bargain. It also broke all sales records for Xbox Live Arcade titles, selling over 200,000 units within the first week of release and as of year-end 2011, has sold over 600,000 copies. A Remastered version was released for Microsoft Windows in December 2015 with plans for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions scheduled to be released in 2016.

Empire (1962 TV series)

Empire is an hour-long Western television series set on a 1960s 500,000-acre (2,000 km²) ranch in New Mexico, starring Richard Egan, Terry Moore, and Ryan O'Neal. It ran on NBC from September 25, 1962, to May 14, 1963.

In the second abbreviated season, from September 24 to December 31, 1963, it was renamed Redigo after Egan's title character, Jim Redigo, the general manager of the fictitious Garrett ranch in Empire, and reduced to a half-hour.

Cast

Egan starred in the series at the age of forty-one, having previously been in the hit film A Summer Place, with the catchy theme song. Redigo was a rare ranch manager, having a Master of Business Administration degree. The ranch was located somewhere in the American Southwest, but the exact location was never pinpointed. The Garretts did have an empire. Besides ranching they were involved in oil, agriculture, and mining. The series has unusually- titled episodes.

Empire also featured 22-year-old Ryan O'Neal, some two years before he gained greater recognition as Rodney Harrington in ABC's Peyton Place. O'Neal, who began acting in 1959, played the son, Tal Garrett. Terry Moore portrayed O'Neal's 33-year-old sister, Connie, who had a romantic interest in Redigo. Their mother and ranch matriarch, Lucia, was played by 53-year-old Anne Seymour (1909–1988).

Empire (EP)

Empire is the first label release by American metalcore band The Word Alive. It was released on July 21, 2009 on Fearless Records. The album was produced by Andrew Wade and charted at number 15 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers. After this EP, founding drummer Tony Aguilera would be kicked from the band, it is however, the first release with lead vocalist Tyler "Telle" Smith.

Re-recordings

The song "Casanova Rodeo" was originally a part of the unreleased The Word Alive EP. After the release of Empire, the track "Battle Royale" became one of The Word Alive's most known and notable songs and was re-recorded for the band's debut full-length album, Deceiver.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (ボボボーボ・ボーボボ, Bobobōbo Bōbobo), or "Bobobo" as he is often called, is the main protagonist and title character. Bobobo is an eccentric man with bodybuilder sized muscles and a giant yellow afro. He fights the forces of evil using his nose hair calling it his "Fist of the Nose Hair" and "Snot Fo-You" technique. He is 27 years old. It is unclear what race he is, or if he is even human. It was never fully explained in the show. His father was a hair ball like creature. His birthday differs between the manga and the anime; the manga lists his birthday as April 1, while the anime claims his birthday to be March 14. His most striking features are his large blond afro and sunglasses. Bo-bobo's full name written in kanji is "母母母ー母・母ー母母". Bo-Bobo closely resembles the Japanese stereotype of an American from the 70's era.

Shaye

Shaye was a Canadian pop group, consisting of singer-songwriters Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean. MacLean left the group in 2007 and the band folded by 2009.

Biography

The Bridge

Shaye's debut album The Bridge (produced by Bill Bell and Jay Joyce) was released in 2003 on EMI Canada. The album features songs by Ron Hynes, Sinéad Lohan and Crash Vegas. Support for the album included shows in Canada and Japan. "Happy Baby", the lead single, was nominated for Single of the Year at the 2004 Juno Awards. This was followed by "Beauty" in January 2005.

Lake of Fire

Their 2006 followup, Lake of Fire was released on EMI Canada. It was exclusively available on iTunes in November 2006, then released physically as a cardboard Digipak in February 2007. It was produced by Jay Joyce (Patty Griffin, Tim Finn, Chantal Kreviazuk) and features songs by Van Morrison, Mike Scott of The Waterboys and Ron Sexsmith. Two singles were released from the album and the band toured Canada opening for Willie Nelson.

Beauty (2011 film)

Beauty (Afrikaans: Skoonheid) is a 2011 South African film directed by Oliver Hermanus. It premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. The film was selected as the South African entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist.

Plot

The film starts with a man named François (Deon Lotz) who is a Lucky South African man in his late forties who lives an apparently joyful life. He is also openly racist and mostly homophobic, but at the same time he has been sexually attracted to other men and has frequent sex encounters with other white and married men.

At his daughter's wedding party, he meets Christian once more (Charlie Keegan), a handsome young man, and He quickly becomes obsessed with Christian. François starts chasing Christian, learning everything he can about him.

Eventually, his attraction for the young guy turns into hatred that seems poised to explode into violence.
